Our Story
We started with a
simple question.
Why do the buildings that most people work in, shop in, and stay in get the worst controls support? The big national contractors chase hospitals and universities. Everyone else gets ignored — or gets a service call that costs a fortune and doesn’t fix the real problem.
Clark & Soma Controls was founded to be the controls partner that retail centers, restaurants, and light commercial properties actually deserve. Strip centers, shopping centers, hospitality, small industrial — the buildings that make up most of real estate but get the least controls support. We show up, we listen to what’s going wrong, and we fix it. No upsells, no jargon, no six-month wait for a callback.
Our founder’s background includes work in pharmaceutical facility controls — environments with tight tolerances and strict documentation requirements. That experience shaped how we approach every project. But what drives us is simpler: we believe every property manager deserves to understand what their building is doing and have someone they trust to call when it’s not working right.

Started Clark & Soma Controls because too many property managers were getting ignored by the big contractors. His controls background includes pharmaceutical facility work, but what he cares about most is making sure your building works the way you need it to.
